Inbound Elective Program

Is an English proficiency score required, even if I have studied English since childhood?

Yes. As per our regulations, all non-native English speakers are required to submit an English proficiency test result (e.g., TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, or an equivalent test from your home country).

There is no specific minimum score requirement, except for certain departments or divisions that may enforce their own criteria.

When should I apply for an elective program, and what are the application rounds?

You must apply at least 4 months before your actual start date or the deadline set by your home university, whichever comes first.

Please note that all starting dates must strictly fall on the 1st Monday or 3rd Monday of the month.

Our application rounds open during specific periods as follows:

  • November (1–30 Nov): For electives starting in April – September.
  • February (1–28 Feb): For electives starting in July – December.
  • May (1–31 May): For electives starting in October – March.
  • August (1–31 Aug): For electives starting in January – June.
Can I change my department or division after I arrive or after my placement has been confirmed?

No. Changing the department or division is strictly not permitted once your placement has been officially confirmed.

Any modifications to the schedule require an entirely new coordination and official approval process across departments, which typically takes an additional 1–2 months to complete.
